Have you ever taken a moment to think about the number of people who are under your influence? Even if you consider yourself to be an introverted person, God has placed people around you for a variety of reasons. One of those reasons is that He longs for you to influence those people for His Kingdom. If that thought seems daunting, you’re not alone. Perhaps you read that statement and believe that you’re not equipped for such a role. Moses couldn’t believe that God would want Him to step up and lead hundreds of thousands of people, but God had a purpose for Moses. He has a purpose for you, too.
Not only does God want you to use your influence, but He also wants you to expand your influence. Influencing people for the Kingdom of God isn’t only about evangelizing the lost. It also means that you encourage believers who are facing adversity. It means that you are eager to help restore a fallen brother or sister. Today, ask God to not only allow you to influence the people in your life, but to expand your borders so you can influence even more people.
Pray These Verses
1 Chronicles 4:10 (NIV)
Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.
Matthew 5:15-16 (NIV)
“Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Proverbs 27:17 (NIV)
As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
Pray This Prayer
Heavenly Father, when Jabez cried out to You, asking You to enlarge his territory, You heard His prayer and granted His request. Today, I am asking the same thing. Today, I commit my life to You completely and I ask You to enlarge my sphere of influence. I want to live in the purpose that You have for me, and I know that part of that purpose involves influencing others for Your Kingdom. Give me the boldness to influence the people who are already in my sphere. Show me opportunities to share Your goodness with others. In Christ’s name, Amen.
Thank God
Heavenly Father, thank You for wanting to use me for Your Kingdom. I know that You don’t need me, but You have still chosen to allow me to be an active participant in Your plan for the world. I am awestruck by the fact that You have established a unique plan for my life. Thank You for the people who are already in my sphere of influence, and for the people that You are going to add. In Christ’s name, Amen.
