It has been said that your friends are the family members that you choose. When you’re taking inventory of the things that God has blessed you with, it’s a good idea to start with the people who you consider to be your friends. Not only does God want us to be thankful for the good, Godly relationships that He has placed in our lives, but He also wants us to pray for those people. Today, spend some time praying for your friends, asking God, bless my friends in everything that they do. This is one of the most powerful methods of loving others the way that God wants us to.

“The Lord Bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
Romans 15:5-6 (NIV)
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NIV)
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
Pray This Prayer
Heavenly Father, today I pray for my friends. I know that each person who is in my life is there because You brought us together. Help me to be a source of encouragement to them, as I know we are all prone to face seasons of hardship. Today, bless my friends, make Your face shine on them, and show them grace. When they’re facing times of trouble, I ask You to give them the peace that You give. Your peace surpasses understanding. I pray that You give them endurance and encouragement when they face adversity. Create unity between us so we can glorify and magnify You with one voice. I ask You to bless everything that my friends do in their careers, allowing them to flourish and bear fruit. Sustain them with all their needs. In Christ’s name, Amen.
Thank God
Heavenly Father, thank You for the people You have placed in my life. I love my family, and I’m grateful for them, but I thank You for the people who chose to be my friend. Thank You for surrounding me with Godly people who encourage me to pursue You and Your will for my life. Thank You for people who I can call anytime of day to pray for me when I need it the most. Thank You for creating me for connection with others. In Christ’s name, Amen.
