Every day when you wake up, you are gifted with an opportunity to not only experience the blessings of God, but to serve as a conduit for the blessings of God to flow to other people. While it is easy to let your mornings be filled with chaos, it’s a good idea to spend a few moments asking God for His blessings on the day that lies ahead of you.
Instead of rolling out of bed and allowing yourself to be dragged into the hustle and bustle of another day, spend some time in prayer before your day officially begins.

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Listen to my words, Lord, consider my lament. Hear my cry for help, my king and my God, for to you I pray. In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.

Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life. Rescue me from my enemies, Lord, for I hide myself in you. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good spirit lead me on level ground.
Pray This Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for waking me up this morning. I know that Your Word teaches me that You give us the breath that we breathe, so I am only awake today because You decided to allow me another opportunity to experience Your goodness for myself, and to pass Your goodness along to those around me.
Because of Your love for me, I am not consumed. I know that today is a new day, and that Your mercies are new every morning. I felt Your presence in my life yesterday, and I saw evidence of Your goodness.
Today, I will see those things again. I know that You are listening to me right now while I pray. I lay out all my requests to You because I know of Your unfailing love for me. I trust You. Lead, guide, and direct me in everything that I say and do today. I give this day to You. In Christ’s name, Amen.
Thank God
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of another day. Thank You for every good thing that I already see in my life. Instead of focusing on the demands on my time, I will slow down this morning and acknowledge the fact that You have blessed me with a bed to wake up in and a place to live. Instead of viewing the things that wait for me today as sources of stress, I will see them as evidence of blessing. In Christ’s name, Amen.
