Heavenly Father,
I come before you with a heart overflowing with gratitude, thanking you for the precious gift of our home. Your Word reminds us in Psalm 127:1, “Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” We acknowledge that our home is a sanctuary crafted by your loving hands, a place where we find shelter, warmth, and the boundless love of a family.
Lord, we are reminded of your promise in Joshua 24:15, “As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” We commit our home to you, dedicating it as a place where your name is honored and your presence is felt. We seek to serve you with all our hearts within these walls.
In 1 Chronicles 29:14, we are reminded that all we have comes from you, and we acknowledge that our home is a gracious provision from your abundant blessings. Thank you for the roof over our heads, the food on our table, and the warmth of our family.
Lord, in this home, may love abide, as instructed in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7: “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” May we demonstrate this love to one another, just as you have loved us.
We thank you for the safety and security our home provides, knowing that, as Psalm 4:8 says, “In peace, I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.”
Lord, help us to be good stewards of this home, as we are reminded in 1 Peter 4:10: “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” May we use our home to minister to others, to show hospitality, and to share your love with those in need.
Lastly, Lord, we express our gratitude for the memories we create within these walls and the family bonds that are strengthened here. May our home be a place of joy, laughter, and unity, where we grow in faith together.
We offer this prayer of thanksgiving in the name of your precious Son, Jesus Christ, who taught us to pray, saying:
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”
In your name, we pray.
Amen.
