Money is one of the main sources of stress that many of us deal with on a daily basis. However, we can rest in the assurance that God has promised to supply all of our needs according to His abundant riches in Heaven.
If you are carrying the heavy weight of financial stress, take a moment and pray this prayer for God to give you the courage that you need and a blessing in your finances.
Pray This Verse:
Matthew 6:25-28 (NIV)
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any on of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.
Pray This Prayer:
Lord, I know that You told the crowd who had gathered to listen to the Sermon on the Mount that you will provide for me just like you provide for the birds of the air. However, in the middle of the financial stress that I’m facing, I’m finding it harder and harder to focus on that truth, and I’m constantly worried about not having enough.
God, if there are any areas where I’m being irresponsible with my finances, please show that to me so I can make the changes to become a good steward of the money that you have given me. If there aren’t any, please Lord, give me your peace that You are on my side and are keenly aware of everything going on in my life.
I know right now I’m afraid of not having enough, but I also know that You have promised to take care of me, because You believe that I’m more precious than the birds in the air.
If I’m truly managing my money according to Your will for me, and there still isn’t enough, I’m asking You to open up new opportunities for me, so I can overcome this financial burden that I’m under. I trust you with my finances and every other area of my life, in Christ’s name, Amen.
Thank God:
Take a moment and thank God for all of the things that you do have in your life, even if you currently feel like you do not have enough. This provides a wonderful opportunity for God to remind you of His faithfulness in every aspect of your life, including your finances.
Your Father in Heaven loves you with an unrelenting love, and has promised to meet all of your needs, so you can trust in Him for the financial help that you’re seeking.
