Have you ever taken a moment to think about the fact that the God of all creation had a purpose in mind for you before you were ever created? That’s an awe-inspiring thought, isn’t it? You weren’t placed on this planet simply to exist. God didn’t make you so you could simply go through life until you begin your eternity with Him. Instead, God made you with a divine purpose in mind.
Unfortunately, we often miss out on that purpose because we simply don’t know how to go about discovering it. If you’ve ever wondered why you’re on this planet, you’ve already taken the first step to finding your purpose. Today, ask God to help you find your purpose so you can fully understand His will and His plan for your life.
Pray These Verses
Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NIV)
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
Jeremiah 32:19-20 (NIV)
Great are your purposes and mighty are your deeds. Your eyes are open to the ways of all mankind; you reward each person according to their conduct and as their deeds deserve. You performed signs and wonders in Egypt and have continued them to this day, in Israel and among all mankind, and have gained the renown that is still yours.
Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Pray This Prayer
Heavenly Father, I want to know why I am here. Help me to discover the purpose that You have for me. The plans that You have for me were set into motion long before I ever took my first breath, but I feel like I have been living my life looking for my purpose. I know that I can’t find it on my own. Please God, reveal Your plans for my life to me. Let me know why I am here so I can live my life in a way that glorifies You. I want Your purpose and Your will for my life. I don’t know what You have for me to do, but I know there is something. I submit my will to Yours. In Christ’s name, Amen.
Thank God
Heavenly Father, thank You for creating me on purpose and for a purpose. Thank You for seeing into the future and believing that my community needed me to be a part of it. Most of all, thank You for allowing me to play a role in Your Kingdom. I know that You don’t need me, but You still want me. In Christ’s name, Amen.
