Heavenly Father,
We come before you with grateful hearts as we approach this weekend, a time of rest and rejuvenation. Your word reminds us in Psalm 4:8 (NIV), “In peace, I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.” Lord, we seek your divine protection over this weekend, trusting in your promise to keep us safe.
As we embark on this time of rest and leisure, we remember the words of Proverbs 3:24 (NIV), “When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.” We ask that you grant us peaceful sleep and sweet dreams, free from anxiety and worry, knowing that you watch over us.
We also reflect on the words of Exodus 20:8-10 (NIV), “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God.” Lord, as we observe the Sabbath and enjoy this weekend, may we honor you by setting aside time for worship, reflection, and gratitude for the blessings you have bestowed upon us.
In the words of Isaiah 41:10 (NIV), “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” We place our trust in you, Lord, and ask for your strength and guidance as we navigate this weekend. Keep us safe from harm, accidents, and any unforeseen dangers.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
