Pray These Verses
Isaiah 40:29-31 (NIV)
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Psalms 13:1-5 (NIV)
How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me? Look on me and answer, Lord my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death, and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,” and my foes will rejoice when I fall. But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.
It is the sovereignty of God that allows us to fully trust in His perfect timing. All of us face times in our lives in which we feel like we’ve been waiting for God without seeing any results. In those moments, it’s easy for our faith to become weak as fear and trepidation take over. This isn’t a new concept. There were multiple people in Scripture who questioned God’s timing before seeing how perfect it is.
No matter what you are facing today, God’s timing is perfect. When you feel like you’ve been praying for something without seeing any results, it’s easy to let the enemy cloud your mind, causing you to forget that fact. Today, take solace in God’s promises, His sovereignty, and His perfect timing.
Psalms 27:13-14 (NIV)
I remain confident of this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
Pray This Prayer
Lord, I feel forgotten. I know in my heart that You never forget Your children, but right now, my head just can’t get past the fact that I feel forgotten. I know that Your timing is flawless, and everything You do is for my good.
Today, I need to be encouraged. I feel like David when he cried out to You, asking how long You would forget him. Help me to have the same revelation that David had which allowed him to trust in Your unfailing love. I declare today that my heart will rejoice in Your salvation, even when I find myself afraid.
I will remain confident in the promise that I will see Your goodness. Renew my strength, and allow me to soar with wings like an eagle. In Christ’s name, Amen.
Thank God
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your perfect timing. Thank You for knowing what I need before I ever realize that I need anything. Thank You for the Holy Spirit who comforts and encourages me in the moments where I feel weak, afraid, and impatient.
Thank You for the gift of Your Word which allows me to read about people just like me who were facing uncertainty until they saw Your perfect timing and sovereignty come to fruition. In Christ’s name, Amen!
