Know That Your Life Matters to God

4 Mins read

Never before have we been connected to so many people at a moment’s notice but felt so isolated. We may have hundreds or thousands of friends or followers on social media, but no one to talk to. Know that You matter to God, He loves you, and He is always beside you.

1 John 4:7

“…let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.” NIV

In our fast-paced world that seems to be completely focused on instant gratification and the latest fad or technology, it can sometimes feel as though no one truly cares about you, it’s all about your tangible possessions.

You matter to your Heavenly Father; He loves you and wants the best for you. King David says in Psalm 139:13-14, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made…” NIV

When you’ve gone through personal loss and grief, many times friends and family may pull away as though they’re embarrassed by your grief or don’t want to get involved or are too consumed by their own emotions. But you matter to your Heavenly Father.

Psalm 10:14

“But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted; you consider their grief and take it in hand.” NIV

No matter how intense your grief or sorrow, your Heavenly Father is there for you.

Hebrews 4:16

“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

If we ask Him, He will help us and show us the way out of our dilemma. He’ll provide the comfort and solace that we need.

We were created in His image, but when Adam sinned, we all became sinners who needed salvation.

Romans 5:12

“…just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned…”ESV

Adam’s sin meant that we needed a sacrificial atonement so that we could stand before a Holy God. Our Creator sent His only Son Jesus to die a terrible death so that we didn’t have to be dead in our sins. Some of the extent of Christ’s suffering was shown in Mel Gibson’s movie, “The Passion of the Christ.” Yet according to Mel Gibson, what was shown was only about 10 percent of the documented suffering that Christ endured for all of us.

The Bible says in Isaiah 52:14 that when the Romans were finished with Him, he bore no semblance of a man. You matter enough to your Heavenly Father that He sent his only Son to endure that for you.

No matter how bad your life gets, suicide is never the answer! God loves you and has a plan for your life. When you’re depressed, rather than turning to suicide, turn to your Heavenly Father. Even when it seems like your life is upside down, He has a plan for you.

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Our time belongs to Him, as King David said in Psalm 31:15, “My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me.” NIV.

Your Heavenly Father has a plan for your life if you’ll only surrender your life to Him.

The love of money may be the root of all evil, but the lack of money can be equally devastating. When you’re going through financially stressful periods, rely on your Heavenly Father, who owns the entire world and the universe that contains it.

As it says in Philippians 4:19, “…my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” KJV

Whether it’s financial difficulties, marital problems, job issues, or other types of trouble, your Creator will see you through. Sometimes, we’re allowed to go through problems so that our character is strengthened and our faith becomes stronger.

1 Corinthians 10:13

“No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation, he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” ESV.

God loves you and He will get you through your troubles if you ask Him and have faith.

The family unit seems to have dissipated with the advent of portable electronic devices, so even if you have family members, you may feel disconnected from them sometimes. Your Heavenly Father is always there for you, so treat Him as your friend and Father and talk to Him throughout the day.

Many people have trouble praying to the Creator of the universe. It’s as easy as talking. You don’t need fancy words or phrases, He knows your heart, so just talk to Him like a friend. Prayer is our way of talking to the Creator and He is right next to you, so talk to Him!

Your prayer can be as simple as, “Father, I’m having trouble feeling loved right now. I feel like all of my family and friends have abandoned me. Please fill me with Your Spirit and let me know that I’m loved.”

When Christ ascended into Heaven, He told us that He would send a Comforter to us who is the Holy Spirit. He indwells everyone who has professed belief in Christ as their Lord and Savior. If you haven’t done this yet, you can pray the following or similar prayer, and He will come to indwell you.

“Jesus, I believe that you came to earth, were crucified, and rose again on the third day so that I might be saved from my sins and spend eternity with You in Heaven. Please forgive me for all of my sins and accept me into Your eternal family. In Your name I pray, Amen.”
